Busy Busy Busy!

WOOHOO!! I am SO glad its saturday!

Its been such a hectic week. Weekends are nice and relaxing but once monday hits, the week passes in a caffeine fueled haze.

Okay...so just to give you an idea of what my week is like, heres my 2 day routine...
Day One
  • 5:00 am - Groggily get up out of bed, wipe the lawai from my cheek and prep myself for the day
  • 6:00 am - Rushing to put on my socks as Tito Doming waits outside to drive us to Boeing.
  • 6:30 am - Arrive at Boeing. Time flies by as I sit there with a stopwatch and time employees every move and count their every step for the sake of improving company efficiency. *snore* Boring task, but if it gets me into the greatest company ever, then its all worth it!! Watching the clock..suddenly I realize its...
  • 3:00 pm - !! and Tito Doming and I make our way back to Chateau Francisco where I get a short 20 minutes to play with Jaimalyn and spend time with Marlyn.
  • 3:50 pm - the the whole team leaves to drop me off to work.
  • 4:00 pm - Kiss my loving wife and daughter goodbye and sit down for 8 straight hours of telephone operating... Its like having the same conversation five hundred to 800 times with different people for 8 hrs straight. Boy am I glad I'm getting out of there.
  • 2:00 am - Exhausted, I climb into my cab and make my way home..
  • 12:15 am - Although exhausted, to keep myself sane, I stay up for the next 45 mins to spend time with the family.
  • 1:00 am - Literally falling apart by now, I collapse on my bed for a little while, only to wake up again at....
  • 6:00 am - to repeat the cycle again, only instead of Boeing, I'm off to school...

Yuck! Guess what? While I sit here typing, I'm eating french fries. I really thought that that thing sticking out from between the keyboard keys was a fallen french fry... *cough cough*

Smart of Stupid?

So I'm reading this book right now called "The Pig That Wants to be Eaten" (book review to come! Stay tuned!) Anyhoo this book is basically a compilation of situations thought up by philosophers over the centuries, which are designed solely for the purpose of making you think. The book refers to these situations as "thought experiments".

After reading a few of them, I felt somewhat inspired and while on a caffeine high (i dont usually drink coffee by the way, but its been a grueling week) I came up with one of my own.

Here goes:

Smartness. The concept of being smart. A smart person is considered smart because there are other people to compare that person against. If this person knows more than the people around them, they are smarter. If they know less then they are considered stupider (for lack of a better term). Right? But since this concept is based on comparison, consider the following.
Suppose that since the beginning of time, there only ever existed one person.

Without anyone to compare this person against, would this person be considered smart or stupid?

1st day at the new job!

Started at Boeing today!! Well, not a paid position just yet. Just a 6 week work experience for my education. But hey, I got my foot in the door to the greatest company ever. Word to the wise, WORK AT BOEING!! The benefits are crazy! 100% everything! dental, ortho, optical, you name it, its covered! PLUS they have an on site recreation centre / gym. They also have a cafeteria that serves premium quality food at dirt cheap prices. AND to top it all off when you are employed at Boeing, if ever you feel the need to get higher education related to the company, THEY WILL PAY 100% OF YOUR TUITION!!! Like say you wanted to take Engineering at the U of M to become an aerospace engineer... Normally it would cost you what? 10,000 bucks? Not as a Boeing employee! They pay all of it! ALL OF IT!!! And all you need to work there is that AMMOP program at Tec Voc. A 1 year program that is FREE! So if you think about it, altogether its a free ride to an Engineering degree!! *hyperventilating* hehe sorry I just had to get that out of my system. I really REALLY hope this work experience thing leads to an actual job there.. if I get in, I'm set FOR LIFE... =)
